When
this fellow was a young lad the only card games you generally
got to play were Snap, Last Card, Solitaire or Fish. Nowadays
there are a host of amazing card games that have upped the stakes
in both complexity and fun.
One
of the biggest selling card-based games in the country at the
moment is Dominion Intrigue.
In
Dominion Intrigue you are a feudal lord with estates and money
and it is your destiny to increase your influence by gaining more
lands, gathering extra nobles to your cause or by downright dastardly
deeds.
Everyone
begins with the same number of cards representing their realm
and may improve their decks to suit their own strategies and make
their hand more powerful. This is important as each turn you cycle
through your deck and the stronger your cards the more you can
do.
There
are three phases per turn where players may play action cards,
buy up new cards and then temporarily discard the current five-cards
they are holding.
The action cards allow players to do extra things in the phase,
or give them extra money to spend, while in the buy phase you
can purchase action cards to play in the future.
Dominion
Intrigue is easy to pick and enjoyable to play for all ages. Great
for siblings, families and even grandparents who have the grandkids
over to stay.
The
big boxed set is filled with many more types of action cards than
you need to play the basic game allowing for a huge amount of
replayability and continued interest.
